National CERT Association - Fall 2021 Newsletter

DavidJ joined the National CERT Association.  If you are not familiar with the organization, you can checkout the website here.

The NCA was created in 2019 with the intent to strengthen the CERT program throughout the US and internationally. Working in concert with FEMA, the NCA will leverage the strength and experience of CERT programs nationwide to share guidance and best practices as well as build more robust communication channels so that CERT programs can connect with each other more efficiently.

FEMA Region 10 - How to Get your Community more Engaged in Preparedness

 September 14th, 2022 Here is a summary of the intent of the webinar: "Join community preparedness leaders from Joyce, Washington, Tacoma, Washington, and Corvallis, Oregon to hear what they've done to help plan and prepare their neighborhoods for emergencies and disasters. From low to no cost steps, like getting to know their neighbors to more extensive measures such as developing a water filtration and water storage system to last weeks, these panelists will discuss what's been working in their communities. They'll share common themes of community engagement and action, with the hopes of inspiring other individuals and groups to take steps to get better prepared."
